“The Walking Forrest” is a work on the political, economic and social system in which we live today in Brazil and in the world. Inspired by William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” text, he casts the question about who would, or what would be, that Macbeth today. Not to find someone who symbolizes it, but to reflect on how the greedy relationship of power systems is around us and crosses us directly or indirectly.
This time, the stage functions as an art gallery, hosting a video installation, composed of four screens that display stories of young people who have had their lives crossed by the Brazilian political system and economic as well as worldwide. New interviews are made in each city – which has already passed through Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Fortaleza, Brumadinho (Inhotim) Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and Frankfurt (Germany) – where the work is presented.
Each day the venue receives a vernissage – with a bar service – and viewers watch the videos and are involved in a series of situations that put them in the middle of a performance that mixes reality and fiction. Unlike the other two shows, this will not leave the text that inspired it so apparent: ‘Macbeth’ will be invisible but present throughout the presentation structure.
